Directions
Take M4 west to junction 7 and turn right on the spur road towards Taplow and Maidenhead. Follow thw spur road until you reach the A4 and turn left towards Taplow. Follow the A4 across one roundabout and turn left at the next mini roundabout signposted towards Dorney. Follow this road for approx 1.5 miles until you reach Dorney common. Go across the first cattle grid and travel across the comon to the second cattle grid at the other end of the common. The river runs right and left under this cattle grid.
Parking
Just across the second cattle grid on the Eaton Wick side of the common you will find a slip road on the left. Please be considerate of the local residents when parking here, as this is mainly a residential area. No parking is allowed on the common or by the second cattle grid !
Species
Barbel, Chub, Carp, Roach, Dace, Perch. This river contains most course fish species and some very large bags of fish can be caught all year round. Fishing is particularly good in the winter since clean warm water flows into the river from the sewage farm further upstream. The water is very shallow, but chub go up to 5LB and the barbel go up to 9LB.
Out of bounds
There are no out of bounds swims and you may fish as far as you can walk in both left and right directions. Please note that some houses back onto the river on the opposite bank so best behaviour please.
Rules
Keepnets are allowed. Barbless hooks only, except in matches (refer to rule book). No night fishing allowed.
Rod limits
You may have several rods set up, but you can only fish with one rod at a time.
Bait Bans
There are no bait bans.
Fishing Season
Standard fishing season applies, 16th June to 13th March.
